How Your Dental Trip to Medellín Works, Step by Step

Dentalex · October 13, 2026

Getting dental work abroad sounds complicated: a new city, a new clinic, flights, hotels, a language you may not speak. Our job is to make it feel simple. Dentalex is with you through the entire process, from the second you leave your house until you return with a brand-new smile.

Here’s how it works, step by step.

1. A free consultation, by phone or email

Everything starts with a conversation. We review your case, answer your questions, and walk you through the options. There’s no cost and no commitment: the goal is that you understand what you need and what it would involve before deciding anything.

Book your free consultation whenever it suits you.

2. A screening close to home

To keep your time away from work short, the planning starts before you travel. Our local dentists and orthodontists screen your teeth in the US and send the results to our experts in Medellín. That way everything needed for your treatment is ready when you arrive, instead of losing days to tests and waiting.

3. Your custom treatment and travel plan

With your screening in hand, you get a personalized plan with two parts:

  • The dental plan: the treatment you need, explained clearly, with costs upfront.
  • The travel plan: dates, flights and accommodation tailored to your schedule and to how long your treatment takes.

4. Travel to Medellín

Flights, your stay, transport and meals aren’t part of the treatment price, but we help you with all of them. We help you find flights that work for your schedule, and if you’d like, we buy the tickets for you and you pay for them directly. We book your apartment, which our team has properly vetted: safe, comfortable, and with all the essential amenities so you stay rested throughout your treatment. And when you land, we can have an English-speaking driver waiting to take you there.

Your apartment has snacks and kosher pasta. Other meals are up to you, and we’re happy to point you to kosher places nearby.

5. Treatment, with local guidance

Your treatment is done by certified dental experts and orthodontists with many years of experience, who speak fluent English. Around it, we help with the rest: rides to and from the clinic, translators when you need them, and local tips so you can actually enjoy the city.

Our English-speaking team is available 24 hours a day while you’re in Medellín.

6. Check-ins after you’re home

Your smile journey doesn’t end at the airport. We stay in touch after you’re back, with check-ins and follow-ups to make sure everything is going as planned.

What it costs

A fraction of what you’d pay in the US. For example, a single implant with its crown is $1,379 with us ($784 + $595), against $3,500 or more in the US, and full-mouth implants are $11,000 per arch ($22,000 for the whole mouth). Travel costs are separate. Your exact quote depends on your treatment plan, which is why the first step is always the free consultation.
